Do: Students will be able to create a poster illustrating why it is necessary to grow plants and animals for food, considering factors such as food availability and nutrition.

Teaching/Learning Procedure:

Engage:

  1. Begin the lesson by discussing with students the importance of food and where it comes from.
  2. Introduce the concept of growing plants and animals for food and why it is necessary.
  3. Show images or videos of markets, farms, or supermarkets showcasing a variety of plants and animals grown for food. Encourage students to observe and discuss what they see.

Explore:

  1. Organize a visit to a local market, farm, or large supermarket where students can observe firsthand the range of plants and animals grown for food. Alternatively, show a video series or pictures of such places in the classroom.
  2. In groups, encourage students to discuss what they observed during the visit or presentation. Guide them to consider why it is necessary to grow plants and animals for food. Provide guiding questions if needed.

Explain:
