  • Use a range of word recognition cluse to identify new words.
  • Automatically recognize words (including basic sight word list) through repeated exposure and mnemonic devices

Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson students will be able to:

  • Assess the use of JC/SJE for various purpose/situations and discuss attitudes towards its use in society,
  • recognize how common prefixes and suffixes change a word’s meaning.

Tier 3: Assessment 2 – Dictation Activity:

Teacher will dictate a list of words with prefixes to the students. They will write the words, paying attention to correct spelling and syllabication. Teacher will assess students’ ability to apply the rules of syllabication accurately.
